Hello there!

Here is your weekly dose of Well-Being tidbits to help you live just a little better!

Something to Consider:

“Be consistent before heroic.” – Kelly Starret

Something Crazy about the Body:

Have you ever heard of a homunculus? Most people haven’t unless they have some education in anatomy. It’s an interesting concept of how sensation is distributed throughout the body. Check out this quick video I did and see exactly why getting popcorn stuck in your teeth is literally torture.

Something About your Posture:

Posture isn’t about just standing up straight and pulling your shoulders back. It’s more about how efficiently your body is operating in the space that it’s in. This is why some of the most important areas for influencing your posture are your feet and hands.

If you watched the homunculus video, you would have seen that the hands and the jaw are very sensory activated. For this reason, the position of the jaw and the head as well as the hands are so important in the Bulletproof Posture System. If you haven’t tried this simple system, it’s no surprise you have some aches and pains.

Something to Wake Up to:

Morning is my time to get my body moving a bit, and I find that 10 minutes of yoga really fits the timeframe. This is why I recommend it to clients so readily. The argument is always that, “10 minutes isn’t enough! You need to do an hour or it’s not worth it!”

Procrastination through perfectionism is a powerful demotivator. The key point is to create small, consistent habits that can be completed on a daily basis. Yoga by Adriene offers some quick and enjoyable routines that are balanced and just challenging enough.

Something to Learn From:
I just ordered this book from Amazon, and it looks intriguing. Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity by Peter Attia, MD. I’ve only scratched the surface of his work through some of the podcasts he’s done (like this one) but it’s always been fascinating work!

Have a great long weekend, and let’s all work on being a little bit better.

ps: The biggest key component to my morning routine is a PhytoGreen drink. Green supplements have been a massive part of my lifestyle for almost 20 years. The reason? They are a powerful punch of plant based nutrients that can support your microbiome, immunity and gut health*.

Even when we focus on a healthy diet, we still run into the problem of a lack of diversity in our food. We fall back on the 3 or 4 preferred fruits and vegetables that we can find in our market. PhytoGreen can help with adding diversity to your diet in a single glass. Just don’t expect it to taste like a Kit-Kat. 😂
